Fort Buhlow Bridge Project Update
Bridge Updates:
The project is 55% complete. The crew has been processing and hauling embankment on the North and South Bound frontage roads. The footing has been poured and a column put in at Bent 4, South Bound.
The contractor will begin the process of building a dock and unloading the crane from the barge to the bank, allowing for installation of the last two rows of the drill shafts to be installed.
Future Activities:
The crew will begin to form up and pour the cap at Bent 4, South Bound while continuing various embankment operations. Drill shaft installations will begin from the bank for shafts 21-33.
Kansas City Railroad Overpass Updates:
The contractor is currently submitting a demolition plan to the KCS Railroad Consulting Engineering Firm for the removal of the remaining two crash walls. The KCS Railroad Overpass bridge header is also being excavated.
Future Activities:
North Bound – The crew will drive 14 foot and 16 foot PCC piles at Bent 14 for the KCS Railroad Overpass, South Bound.
