This information is to provide you with a brief update regarding the La. 511 resurfacing project. The current work that is being performed along the corridor is associated with the relocation of utilities. The utility relocation is being performed independently in preparation for the upcoming construction activities associated with the resurfacing. During this time, DOTD’s contractor has been clearing and prepping the area for the upcoming construction activities which are estimated to begin the week of July 15th.
Please be advised, during construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound and westbound direction. The improvement project will widen the eastbound and westbound lanes of La. 511 between Fern Avenue and Creswell Road and construct a center turn lane. In addition, the project will resurface the existing roadway.
Construction is expected to take approximately one year to complete and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
