New Orleans, LA – Speaking to a group of Westbank business people Wednesday night, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Secretary Sherri LeBas announced that the department had reached an agreement with Jefferson Parish to perform maintenance along the Westbank Expressway.

“With the assistance of the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission (RPC), we have executed an agreement with Jefferson Parish for mowing, litter pickup and landscape maintenance,” said LeBas, who served as keynote speaker for the Harvey Canal Industrial Association’s 67th annual President’s Banquet.

Based on current legislation, the RPC has the responsibility of directing operations and maintenance of former Crescent City Connection Division (CCCD) tasks and projects. It will utilize money from the $5.2 million in CCCD transition funds to provide mowing and litter pickup on the Westbank Expressway area extending from Terry Parkway to West Junction of US 90B at US 90.

The agreement, which also includes bed and tree maintenance, goes through fiscal year 2014.
