TUNNEL EASTBOUND REOPENS: Harvey Tunnel (US90Z) full closures/updates

Update: November 27, 2024. The eastbound Harvey Tunnel is open to vehicular traffic. The westbound Harvey Tunnel is currently closed for rehabilitation.

Harvey, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that vehicle access to the Harvey Canal Tunnel (US 90Z) in Harvey will be fully closed to all traffic between Monday, October 21, 2024, and Wednesday, November 27, 2024, for work associated with the $53 million Harvey Canal Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.
- Westbound traffic, currently open, will close on Monday, October 21, 2024, and remain closed through April 4, 2025 for rehabilitation work.
- Eastbound traffic, which is currently closed, will reopen to the public on November 27, 2024. There will be a few intermittent daily closures, but it will generally remain open through April 2025.
- Vehicles can detour the area via US 90B (elevated expressway).
