DOTD begins process to decommission the CCC

New Orleans, LA – As a result of the vote to end tolling on the Crescent City Connection Bridge (CCC), the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) began the process to decommission the toll plaza Wednesday night, starting with the removal of electronic equipment.
The process involves removing all electronic devices from all 12 lanes, ensuring that all electrical power is off and that the electrical cables are properly stored. There are over 15 pieces of electronic equipment per lane and all will be moved to a warehouse for storage.
DOTD will continue work on the toll islands as well as long-term plans for the plaza.
