NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that district crews will begin repairing overhead lighting on the elevated portions of the West Bank and Pontchartrain Expressways.

Work to repair approximately 65 overhead lights will begin this weekend, Saturday, January 19, and continue through the end of the month.  The majority of the work will take place between Terry Parkway and Ames Boulevard and will require intermittent right lane closures in both directions between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

As this project begins, DOTD is closing out another lighting project in which 35 decorative lamps were replaced on the Crescent City Connection bridges.  Work on this project began Friday, January 11, and will officially wrap-up within the next two weeks. Both lighting projects were paid for with toll dollars.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction/maintenance site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
