US 190 Painting and Repair Project Update
Friday, March 01, 2013 at 11:50:10 AM

Workers continue to repair and paint structural towers on the west side of US 190 Bridge. They have blasted a portion of existing structural towers, removing paint and rust. Once blasted, they power wash and let the tower dry. Workers then begin the paint process, which consists of applying several coats of primer and paint. The entire process requires each individual tower to be curtained with tarp to ensure containment safety.  Work will continue on the approaches on the west side of the bridge before moving to the approaches on the east side. The final stage will involve repairing and painting the main span of the bridge over the Mississippi River.
