UPDATE: DOTD announces a change to traffic restrictions at Tchoupitoulas Street
Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 5:20:17 PM

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the Tchoupitoulas Street traffic restriction has been revised. As of this morning, the 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. exception, allowing traffic turning to go downriver or straight down Calliope, has been eliminated.

Through Sunday, February 3, traffic exiting the bridge at Tchoupitoulas Street will not be allowed to turn left onto Tchoupitoulas or go straight onto riverbound Calliope Street. All ramp traffic will be required to turn right and use Tchoupitoulas Street in the upriver direction. This restriction is necessary to accommodate special events in the area of the convention center.

DOTD appreciates the patience of the motoring public as these temporary traffic control restrictions are implemented.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is committed to delivering transportation and public works systems that enhance the quality of life.
