NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that district crews will be performing maintenance work on I-10, which will necessitate lane and shoulder closures, in preparation for the city’s upcoming Super Bowl activities.
Throughout the weekend and possibly into Monday, January 21, drivers can expect intermittent, alternating lane closures on I-10 eastbound and westbound from the St. Charles/Jefferson Parish line through Orleans parish. The closures will remain in effect during daylight hours only and are weather permitting.
DOTD Secretary Sherri LeBas said, “DOTD is excited to help the city prepare for its tenth Super Bowl. These maintenance activities, in addition to other major projects going on throughout the area, will help to facilitate a warm welcome for fans visiting New Orleans.”
Work includes cleaning, pressure washing, painting, litter pickup, fence repairs and pothole patching.
