This opportunity has been made available through DOTD in conjunction with the Southeastern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (SASHTO). Scholarship award applications will be evaluated and administered by the Louisiana Transportation Research Center (LTRC).

It is imperative that we ensure the success of Louisiana by investing in future leaders and by supporting the best and brightest in the transportation field.”
Junior and senior undergraduate students attending Louisiana universities with a declared major in civil engineering are eligible to apply. Applicants must be in good academic standing and have a professed interest in the transportation field as a vocation. The student’s interest in transportation must be expressed in a one-page description relating academic choices and career goals.
The student must express his/her interest in a one-page paper, which relates their academic choices to their career goals. The deadline for receipt of applications is December 7, 2012.
The LTRC Policy Committee will evaluate applicants and select recipients based on the following requirements:
GPA: 20-40 points
Interest and Motivation in Transportation: 0-20 points
DOTD Summer Engineering Student or Co-Op Student: 0-40 points
Students should apply through the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department at their respective university. Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply in subsequent years.
