New Orleans, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) releases a sixth update on the post-Hurricane Isaac recovery efforts of the Crescent City Connection Division (CCCD). Although normal daily operations have resumed, a variety of repair and clean up efforts continue at CCCD ferry sites, administration buildings, bridges and roadways.
The Crescent City Connection Police Department (CCCPD) is now assisting with crowd and traffic control operations at the Alario Center in Westwego, one of many Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) sites in the Greater New Orleans area. Louisiana State Police (LSP) requested CCCPD presence to support the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) efforts to provide relief to residents affected by the hurricane.
Additionally, DOTD provides the following updates on Crescent City Connection Division recovery activities as related to Hurricane Isaac:
The substation generator, located adjacent to the CCCD Administration Building, has been repaired and will be tested before being cleared for use.
Ferry boat repairs are ongoing, but CCCD hopes to return one or two vessels to service this fall.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is committed to delivering transportation and public works systems that enhance the quality of life.
