DOTD suspends toll collections on La. 1 in Leeville and the Crescent City Connection US 90B in New Orleans to facilitate evacuation, emergency

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Today, in response to the declared state of emergency caused by tropical storm Isaac, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD)  is suspending toll collections at LA 1 in Leeville and the Crescent City Connection (CCC) US 90B in New Orleans to facilitate evacuation, emergency and protective services. DOTD will notify the traveling public when tolling services resume.


Additionally, DOTD has reached out to contractors working on evacuation routes to ensure no closures or lane restrictions will be in place should evacuation efforts occur.

DOTD, under authority of Title 48 and as agent for the Louisiana Transportation Authority (LTA), hereby declares that the tolls will be suspended from this date until the need for evacuation or emergency services cease as determined by DOTD.

 

DOTD wants to remind motorists on the CCC Bridge that the speed limit through the toll plaza is 25 miles per hour even with the suspension of tolls.
