The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, work will begin on the LA 121: Cross Drain Replacement project on Monday, May 15, 2023 and will continue for approximately three (3) months. This 0.066 mile project will receive clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, asphalt concrete pavement, and related work. The project is located on route LA 121 from 0.9 miles east of its junction with Poe Road to its junction with Elray Wellman Rd. This 0.066 mile project will receive drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, and related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Womack and Sons Construction Group, LLC in the amount of $490,569.90.
Permit/Detour Section
The contractor will begin clearing and grubbing operations on Monday, May 15, 2023 and the roadway will be closed to all local and through traffic beginning on Monday, May 22, 2023.
All eastbound traffic approaching the project along LA 121 will be detoured via LA 489 to LA 465 and back to LA 121.
All westbound traffic approaching the project along LA 121 will be detoured via LA 465 to LA 489 and back to LA 121.
