DOTD announces start of $4.1M Capital Outlay project in Acadia Parish

ACADIA PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the start of a $4.1 million Louisiana Capital Outlay pavement preservation project to resurface a 4.08 - mile section of La. 13 from 1.023 miles north of La. 92 (E. Whitney St.) to its intersection with Lovell Rd.
The project is anticipated to begin May 15 and will include milling asphaltic concrete, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, roadway reinforcing mesh, striping, and related work.
The work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work. Therefore, drivers should expect delays.
Emergency vehicles will have access to this area but may encounter delays.
The road will be open to regular traffic with a 14-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
The project will begin in May 2023 and is estimated to be complete in August of 2023.
