The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), in coordination with the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office and the Federal Highway Administration, has commissioned a project to study historic bridges in the state, and to develop a process to manage and preserve these valued resources.
Mead & Hunt, a national consulting firm that specializes in historic bridges, will assist in the preparation of the Historic Bridge Inventory.
