The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that, weather permitting, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 7:00 am, Beauboeuf Road Bridge will be closed to all traffic. The purpose of this closure is to remove the existing timber bridge and replace it with a concrete slab span bridge. The bridge closure is expected to last four months.
This construction project consists of 3 bridges located on Pat LaBorde Road, Beauboeuf Road, and Guillot Road. The work consists of clearing and grubbing, removal of bridge, grading, aggregate surface course, precast concrete piles, concrete slab bridges, and related work.
This contract was awarded to Merrick, LLC in the amount of $2,080,466.35.
Permit/Detour section
Beauboeuf Road will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the bridge construction.
The detour is as follows:
Eastbound traffic will travel west on Beauboeuf Road to the intersection of LA 115. From there, proceed south on LA 115 to the intersection of LA 1192. From there, travel east on LA 1192 to the intersection of Beauboeuf Road.
Westbound traffic will travel east on Beauboeuf Road to the intersection of LA 1192, then travel west on LA 1192 to the intersection of LA 115. From there, proceed north on LA 115 to the intersection of Beauboeuf Road.
The detour route will be identified with proper construction signage. All emergency agencies will be notified of the bridge closure.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
