DOTD announces upcoming Acadian Thruway closures

Baton Rouge- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that Acadian Thruway will be closed on the weekends of January 7 and January 14 to allow crews to replace the railroad bridge south of I-10.

The lane closures are as follows:

· Saturday, 1/7- Sunday, 1/8- Acadian Thruway will have a full roadway closure at the railroad crossing from 12 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Local traffic will only be permitted. There will also be intermittent single lane closures along S. Eugene Dr., Valley St. and Perkins Rd.
· Saturday, 1/14- Sunday, 1/15- Acadian Thruway will have a full roadway closure at the railroad crossing from 12 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Local traffic will only be permitted. There will also be a rolling closure on S. Eugene Dr., Valley St. and Perkins Rd. that is anticipated to be approximately two hours on each street.

During these closures, traffic will be detoured to I-10, Perkins Rd. and College Dr.
