DOTD announces results of Jan. 28 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $49 million at its Jan. 28 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $16,789,962.53, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let Jan. 28, a project in Vernon Parish calling for clearing and grubbing, installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work to widen La. 28 from two to four lanes from La. 465 to the Rapides Parish line.

Acadia, Lafayette, St. Martin – Replacing raised pavement markers, pavement striping and related work on I-10 from the Jefferson Davis Parish line to the Iberville Parish line, Highway Technologies Inc., Baton Rouge, $179,304.30.

Ascension – Concrete sidewalks and related work along La. 18 from just west of Railroad Avenue to Lessard Avenue, Chambers Construction Co. Inc., Prairieville, $218,755.38.

Beauregard – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 27 from 9.9 miles north of La. 110 to 0.67 miles south of U.S. 190, Diamond B Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $5,744,753.44.

Bossier – Installing drainage pipe, concrete overlay and related work to build a right turn lane on La. 72 at La. 3105, F.J. Burnell Inc., Shreveport, $229,701.40.

Bossier – Asphalt overlay and related work on I-20 from Industrial Drive to Fifi Bayou, Madden Contracting Co. Inc., Minden, $7,700,846.11.

Bossier – Installing drainage pipe, concrete overlay and related work to build a right turn lane on La. 3105 at U.S. 80, F.J. Burnell Inc., Shreveport, $289,826.

Caddo – Pavement striping and related work on I-20 from the Texas state line to 0.37 miles east of La. 3132, Highway Technologies Inc., Baton Rouge, $246,740.60.

Franklin – Installing drainage pipe, concrete sidewalks and related work along Havard Street from Polk Street to La. 15, W.L. Bass Construction Inc., Ruston, $139,924.

Grant – Clearing and grubbing, installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work to build left turn lanes on La. 1241 at South Grant Elementary School, Diamond B Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $1,011,357.79.

Lafourche – Mechanical repairs on the Galliano Bridge on La. 308, Boland Marine & Manufacturing Co. LLC, New Orleans, $716,700.

LaSalle – Sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 127 from 0.59 miles north of Little River to 0.5 miles south of La. 777; on La. 915 from La. 916 to La. 913; and on La. 565 from La. 129 to La. 15, Dreher Contracting Inc., Bastrop, $510,141.28.

Madison – Replacing raised pavement markers, pavement striping and related work on I-20 from U.S. 65 to the Mississippi state line, Highway Technologies Inc., Baton Rouge, $134,919.60.
