Beauregard Parish -- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the Bundick Lake drawdown structure is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

The structure was opened on Friday, October 7, 2022, to allow for replacement of the drawdown gate and hurricane-related repairs.

However, recent rainfall has elevated lake levels, causing the desired elevation to be unattainable during the winter and spring months.

Therefore, the project will have to be restarted, with the structure planned to reopen at the end of the spring or early summer of 2023. The project is scheduled to take a year to complete.
