The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has adopted a mandatory electronic bidding policy for contractors that will go into effect in Nov. 2008. Paper bids will be received and accepted by the department through the October letting, but will not be accepted after Nov. 13. To register for electronic bidding, please visit www.bidx.com. DOTD also implemented online registration on May 27, 2008. The transition period for online registration will end with the August letting. When the September letting is advertised on August 25, online registration will become mandatory. Paper documents may still be purchased, but companies will be required to register first then contact Sharon Knight to request the paper documents.
