BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $68 million at its July 30 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $13,239,649, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Belle Chasse, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let July 30, a project in Jefferson and Plaquemines parishes calling for clearing and grubbing, installing drainage pipe, concrete overlay, pavement patching, concrete girder span bridge and related work on the Harvey Boulevard Extension from Wall Bouelvard to La. 3017.
