BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $80 million at its Feb. 27 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $42,426,114.61, Best-Yet Builders LLC, Shreveport, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let Feb. 27, a project in DeSoto Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, concrete overlay, pavement patching, concrete slab span and girder bridges, and related work on U.S. 171 from 0.35 miles south of Brown Road to 0.43 miles north of Elam Branch.
