BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $157 million at its June 25 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $30,212,974.57, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let June 25, a project in Winn Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete overlay, concrete girder bridges and related work to widen U.S. 167 from Winnfield to La. 1236.
