DOTD announces results of Nov. 14 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $51 million at its Nov. 14 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $16,885,359.89, James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Lincoln Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on La. 33 from Interstate 20 to La. 821.

Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Bienville – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on La. 154 from the Bossier Parish line to La. 4, Madden Contracting Co. Inc., Minden, $2,730,613.63.

Bossier, Caddo – Mowing, litter collection and related work on I-20 from the Texas state line to the Webster Parish line, Langford Contractors, Carthage, Tex., $197,380.

Caddo – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 1 from Southfield Road to Stratford Avenue, Benton & Brown LLC, Minden, $773,190.91.

Caddo – Clearing and grubbing, and related work along La. 511 from La. 526 to Pines Road, Specialty Trackhoe & Dozer Service Inc., Shreveport, $189,116.

Caddo, DeSoto – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 169 from La. 172 to Four Forks, Benton & Brown LLC, Minden, $1,924,631.47.

Catahoula – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work on U.S. 84 from Westland Drive to La. 927 west, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $2,944,342.48.

Jefferson – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 18 from La. 45 to West Drive, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $957,542.

Jefferson, Plaquemines, Orleans – Traffic signal improvements and related work at various intersections on La. 23 and La. 428, Diamond Electrical Co. Inc., Baton Rouge, $2,619,159.48.

Plaquemines – Asphalt overlay, concrete slab span bridge, movable bridge machinery and related work to replace the Doullut Canal Bridge on U.S. 11, Coastal Bridge Co. LLC, Baton Rouge, $10,932,563.

St. John – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on U.S. 61 from the St. Charles Parish line to approximately 0.5 miles east of U.S. 51, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $1,212,076.06.

St. Landry – Building renovations and related work at the Orphan Train Depot Museum, Claus Construction Co. of Eunice Inc., Eunice, $506,400.

Tensas – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on U.S. 65 from La. 568 north to La. 128 north, D & J Construction Co. Inc., West Monroe, $3,848,118.70.

Washington – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work on La. 437 from the St. Tammany Parish line to La. 16, Covington Paving Co., Sun, $2,954,227.41.

West Carroll – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on La. 2 from Oak Grove to the East Carroll Parish line, D & J Construction Co. Inc., West Monroe, $1,303,561.92.
