House Public Meeting at the following time and place:

LADOTD and the Federal Highway Administration propose to address bridge deficien-cies related to the age and design of the movable bridge crossing Chef Menteur Pass at U.S. Highway 90. The bridge is a swing-span type built in 1930. It has narrow travel lanes, no shoulders, and other features that do not meet current design stan-dards and guidelines. An Environmental Assessment (EA) is underway to study alternatives for correcting these deficiencies.

The open house will provide preliminary information about the project and the EA process. In addition, the meeting is an opportunity for any interested parties to re-quest participation in Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act consulta-tion to address cultural and historical resource issues related to the project. Exhibits and graphic displays will be available for viewing at any time from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. LADOTD representatives will be available to answer questions and to receive com-ments from the public. Verbal comments will be recorded during the open house and written comments will also be accepted. Written statements can also be mailed to
