DOTD announces temporary closure of Butte LaRose boat landing

UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 21, 2022: DOTD announces that the Butte La Rose boat landing has reopened to the public.



UPDATE AS OF SEPTEMBER 19, 2022: DOTD announces that on Monday, September 19, at 8 p.m., the Butte LaRose boat landing was re-closed due to low water levels caused by the drawdown t Henderson Lake.

The boat ramp will remain closed until the drawdown is complete and the water has returned to a safe level.

The Department apologizes for any inconvenience to the public.



UPDATE AS OF AUGUST 29, 2022: DOTD announces that due to rising water levels at Henderson Lake, caused by excessive rain, the Butte LaRose boat landing has reopened to the public.

DOTD will continue to monitor the water levels and re-close the boat ramp when the lake reaches the targeted elevation.



ST. MARTIN PARISH, La.
- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that beginning Monday, August 22, at 10 p.m., the Butte LaRose boat landing, near the Atchafalaya Welcome Center in St. Martin Parish, will be closed until further notice due to low water levels caused by the drawdown at Henderson Lake.

The drawdown is being conducted by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). For more information on the drawdown and its benefits, the public can view the press release from LDWF.

The boat ramp will remain closed until the drawdown is complete and the water has returned to a safe level.
