UPDATE - BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 505 south of Jonesboro in Jackson Parish


(UPDATE 09/08/2022): Due to unforseen circumstances and weather delays, this bridge closure on LA 505 in Jackson Parish is being extended through Friday, September 16, 2022.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the traveling public's patience as our crews work to complete these necessary bridge repairs.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, August, 8, 2022, LA 505 will be closed to thru traffic.

This bridge is located approximately 1.6 miles east of its intersection with US 167 in Jackson Parish.

This road closure is necessary to allow for routine bridge maintenance.

The LA 505 road closure is anticipated to last 10 days, and should be reopened Thursday, August 18, 2022.

DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.

Permit/Detour: The detour route will be LA 147, LA 505, and US 167.
