LA 73 Widening Project Update
Monday, February 13, 2012 at 10:54:01 AM

This project will reconstruct and widen 2.3 miles of La. 73 from two to three lanes, from Airline Hwy. (U.S. 61) to I-10. The project will add a center turn lane and widen the current width of the driving lanes from 11.5 feet to 12 feet as well as add a 6-foot shoulder on each side. The project will finish Summer 2013.

Contractors are currently installing box culverts at the Grand Goudine canal that will replace the bridge currently in place. A two lane detour is being installed to route traffic over the box culverts that will allow for the removal of the current bridge.
