(Original notification 7/29/2022):

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to improve safety and traffic flow at the I-20 westbound off-ramp at Exit 69 (Arcadia/Dubach) in Bienville Parish.

Beginning on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, there will be a shoulder closure at this exit as work begins.

The $454,572 project will lengthen the deceleration lane to allow for greater vehicle storage capacity as motorists prepare to reduce their speed and exit.

These types of projects also decrease the number of conflicts between slower and higher speed vehicles on the interstate, improving safety at the interchange.

Extending the deceleration lane also reduces the delay associated with the stop-and-go effect that interrupts normal traffic flow on the ramp.

Intermittent lane closures will be necessary as the project moves forward, and further information will be provided at that time.

The entire project is anticipated to be complete in Fall 2022, weather permitting.

Alternate Route: N/A

Permits/Restrictions: N/A

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

Safety Reminder:
