LA 64 Magnolia Bridge Replacement Project Lane Closure
Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at 8:16:13 AM

LA 64 from LA 1019 to the Magnolia Bridge near Denham Springs, the westbound lane will be closed beginning Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 8:30 a.m.(weather permitting) as part of the phasing for the construction of the new Magnolia Bridge and approaches.  Westbound traffic will be shifted to the center lane to allow crews to widen the existing roadway in order to add travel lanes and construct the new bridge approaches.  Westbound traffic will remain in the center lane until the bridge work is complete and traffic can be shifted onto the new bridge.  In addition, motorists should expect intermittent delays on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (weather permitting), while crews install temporary striping and shift traffic.

This closure will allow vehicles up to 11 feet wide to pass through the construction zone.  The road is open for regular traffic but oversize vehicles and loads are still under permit restrictions.  Motorists may use US 190 as an alternate route.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
