Current work: Progress is steady with multiple contractors working daily at different items. Currently, the most important work items are the operator’s house and the south counterweight. The counterweight moves up and down controlling the descent of the bridge deck and allows boat traffic to pass through. Once the installation of the counterweight is complete, the contractor can begin construction of the bridge deck. The entire completion date is scheduled for June 2012.
