DOTD announces start of $4 million safety project for Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion parishes

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) announced today that on Monday, May 2, work began on a $4 million safety project for Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion parishes.

The project involves installing rumble strips, thermoplastoc striping and related work along various routes.

Work will take place on the following routes.

Iberia Parish
LA 182, LA 88, LA 89, LA 347, LA 320, LA 344, and LA 680

St. Martin Parish
LA 92-1, LA 352, LA 347, LA 345, LA 341 and LA 680

Vermilion Parish
LA 182, LA 318 and LA 87 in St. Mary Parish, and LA 14, LA 13, LA 82, LA 35, LA 92, LA 699, LA 339, LA 343 and LA 696

Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

The roads will be open to regular traffic.

Intermittent lane closures will be necessary to perform the work in this area; therefore, drivers should expect some delays.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area.

This project is estimated for completion in March 2023.
