DOTD announces emergency closure of LA 413 Bayou Chenal Bridge in Point Coupee Parish

Point Coupee Parish - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the LA 413 Bayou Chenal Bridge in Point Coupee Parish will remain closed for thru traffic. The bridge was immediately closed on Thursday, March 31, following a bridge inspection that revealed multiple deficiencies. This closure will remain in effect until repairs can be made.

Motorists traveling on LA 416 and LA 414 can cross over Bayou Chenal on LA 983.

The LA 413 bridge is part of a project that is scheduled to go to bid in May that will replace both the Bayou Chenal Bridge and Bayou Discharge Bridge. This project is anticipated to begin Fall 2022, weather permitting.
