EVANGELINE PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that beginning March 21, construction will begin on a $4.9 million road preservation project along a 9.22-mile section of U.S. 167 from La. 13 to the Rapides Parish line.

The project will include milling asphalt concrete, patching, asphalt surface treatment, new asphalt pavement, repairing drainage structures, guardrail replacement, rumble strips, striping, and related work.

Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

There will be intermittent lane closures throughout the project, but the road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

Emergency vehicles will have access to this area.

The project is estimated for completion in winter 2022.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
