UPDATE: DOTD announces alternating lane closures on I-49 South to continue repairs at the Sugarhouse Road overpass

EXTENDED: I-49 Southbound at LA 3250 (Sugarhouse Road) will have daytime alternating lane closures Monday, March 14, at 7 a.m. until Friday, March 18, at 6 p.m.


ALEXANDRIA, La.
- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Monday, March 7, at 7 a.m., I-49 Southbound at La. 3250 (Sugarhouse Road) will have daytime alternating lane closures, weather permitting.

The closures are needed to continue repairs to the Sugarhouse overpass over Interstate 49. These lane closures are expected to last until Friday, March 11, at 6 p.m.

Permit/Detour
There are no detours at this time associated with the lane closures.
There will be a lane Wwdth restriction of 11 feet for the lane closures.

Safety Reminder
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
