Fort Buhlow Bridge Project Lane Closure Update
Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:26:59 AM

Tuesday (July 26, 2011) portions of US 165/71 will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction from the O.K. Allen Bridge to its intersection with I-49 (approximately 0.5 miles).

The two (2) existing southbound lanes of US 165/71 in this area will be reconfigured for two-way traffic. Accordingly, between I-49 and the O. K. Allen Bridge, there will be one lane of traffic southbound and one lane of traffic northbound on US 165/71. The revised configuration will be in effect for approximately one (1) year.

This closure is necessary to allow crews  to work on the approaches for the new Fort Buhlow Bridge.

Please be advised that there will be delays associated with this change in traffic pattern. DOTD would like to take this opportunity to encourage all motorists to avoid unnecessary travel through this area and to consider selecting an alternate route when possible in order to eliminate potential delays, especially during peak travel times.

There are no additional restrictions related to roadway width, length, weight or loads.

DOTD appreciates you patience and reminds you to please drive with caution when travelling through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
