Weeks Island Bridge Project Update

The Bayou Stumpy Bridge opened to traffic since May 27th.  Remaining work on this bridge will take place under traffic.

Bayou Patout Bridge work is ongoing, with completion expected in early 2012.

Current Work:

Crews are grading road foundation for the new roadway approaches. Also, the traffic barrier platforms, caps, and deck corms for North and South Bank are ongoing.  Lastly, we are working on the operator house components.

Upcoming Work:
• Installation of pile end bents and approach slabs
• Operator House construction
• Hydraulic and Electrical Bridge Machinery
• Continuation of Timber Fender System Work
• Continuation of Steel Swing-span Deck Work

Completion:

When Patout Bridge is completed, traffic will be placed on the new bridge and the old bridge will be removed.
