The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that the Bayou Boeuf Bridge on LA 1176 ARE OPEN to all traffic.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (DOTD), advises the public that, weather permitting, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 the Bayou Boeuf Bridge on LA 1176 will be closed to all traffic.

This 0.35 mile construction project consists of clearing and grubbing, removal of timber bridges, grading, drainage structures, asphalt concrete pavement, precast concrete piles, concrete slab bridges, and related work. Construction is expected to be completed by July 2022.

This contract was awarded to Diamond B Construction, LLC in the amount of $2,835,736.86.

Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be close to all traffic for the duration of the bridge construction. The detour will be as follows:

East bound traffic will travel west on LA 1176 to the intersection of LA 29 and proceed north on LA 29 to the intersection of US 71 at Bunkie, and proceed south on US 71 to LA 1176.

West bound traffic will travel east on LA 1176 to the intersection of US 71 and proceed north on US 71 to the intersection of LA 29 at Bunkie, proceed south on LA 29 to LA 1176.

The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the bridge closure.

Safety Reminder
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
