The Fort Buhlow Project has progressed very well over the past month due to great weather conditions. Work on the bents, the supports of the new bridge, has begun on the Alexandria side of the project. A cofferdam has been installed in order to pump water out of the river to allow our crews access to portions of the construction site that would normally be under water.
On the Pineville side of the project, the contractor has made preparations to begin construction. Crews have begun clearing right-of-way and removing existing structures to allow for installation of the new roadway.
Currently the contractor is ahead of schedule and hopes to continue as we head into the summer months.
