BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $16 million at its Feb. 23 public bid opening, according to DOTD Secretary Sherri H. LeBas, P.E.

With a bid of $2,153,579.46, R.E. Heidt Construction Co. Inc., Westlake, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let Feb. 23, a project in Jefferson Davis Parish calling for the installation of drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on La. 395 from U.S. 90 to La. 102.
