Houma Tunnel Closure, LA 3040 - Terrebonne Parish - RE-OPENED TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Monday, September 20, 2021 at 12:30:01 PM

The Houma Tunnel crossing the Intracoastal Canal Waterway (ICWW) on LA 3040 in Houma, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic starting September 19, 202, until further notice, due to a single vehicle (tractor trailer) crash which resulted in damage to the tunnel lighting system.

The closure is needed in order to allow DOTD tunnel maintenance and repair crews to assess the damage and make repairs so that the lighting within the tunnel can be restored.

Alternate routes available for crossing the ICWW are: LA 24/LA 659 (Twin Span Bridge) and LA 315 (Dularge Bridge).

Safety Reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
