NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has had to reschedule this weekend's closure of the Judge Seeber (Claiborne) Bridge in order to accommodate a navigation request by the United States Coast Guard.

The bridge will now be closed January 22-25, from 5 a.m. Saturday morning until 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, to finish readjusting the main tension cables used to lift the bridge. This is the last scheduled closure for this month and will be a total closure to both vehicular and marine traffic, in each direction. The Florida Avenue and St. Claude Bridges will continue to serve as alternate routes.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is committed to delivering transportation and public works systems that enhance the quality of life. In addition to more than 16,600 miles of roadway, including over 890 miles of interstate, DOTD supports the development of the state’s aviation, marine and rail infrastructures. Through this work, we are able to facilitate economic development, create job opportunities, improve vital evacuation routes, and make critical freight corridors safer and more efficient.
