White Castle ferry to only run morning schedule on Christmas Eve

BATON ROUGE, La. –The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that the White Castle ferry will only run its morning schedule on Christmas Eve. The hours will be from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The 17-car White Castle ferry will resume its regular hours of operation from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27.

The Plaquemine and St. Francisville ferries will run their regular schedules.

Before traveling, drivers can call the Toll-Free Ferry Information line at 1-888-613-3779 for the status of the ferry, or visit the "Ferry Status" page on the right-hand side of the DOTD Web site.

Drivers can also access updates on the ferry through Twitter by visiting www.twitter.com/WhCastle_Ferry. By creating a Twitter account, drivers can receive automatic updates on the ferry’s status via their Twitter Web page or text message.
