DOTD to hold two public meetings for La. 10 reconstruction project

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will hold two public meetings for a project that will continue the widening of La. 10 between La. 68 in Jackson to just west of LA 963 going toward Clinton.

A meeting in Clinton will be held on Monday, Oct. 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Police Jury meeting room at 12064 Marston St. in Clinton.

A meeting in Jackson will be held October 12 at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jackson Fire Station at 1631 Charter St. (Hwy 10) in Jackson.

These meetings are being held to allow the public to learn more about the project and to sign-up to receive periodic e-mail updates on the project’s progression. Representatives from DOTD and F.G. Sullivan Jr. LLC will be in attendance to provide information on the project and answer any questions.

Work on the $10.9 million project will involve reconstructing 5.63 miles of the existing roadway, widening the lanes from 11 feet to 12 feet, and construction 10 foot shoulders. In addition, new cross drains will be installed throughout the limits of the project as well as a new bridge over Redwood Creek. Construction will begin in October 2010 and last until spring 2012.
