Prospect Bridge Replacement Project update
Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 3:36:32 PM

The project engineer for the Prospect Bridge Project is very pleased with the progress to date. The contractor is on schedule and working six days a week.

Current work:
The contractor has one crew installing new sheet pile wall along La. 24 and Bayou Terrebonne which will support the new roadway embankment along the bayou. This week the crews will drive the first piles of the two main piers.

Completed work:
Crews have removed the entire old bridge structure. The new drainage work is located along La. 3087 (Prospect Street) and La. 24 (Main Street), is complete.

This photo was taken of the sheet pile wall along La. 24 and Bayou Terrebonne that are being installed.  This sheet pile wall is what will hold the edge of the new road embankment in place and keep it from sliding into the bayou.
