CCCD adds second ferry to help transport fans to NFL Kickoff

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development’s Crescent City Connection Division (CCCD) announces the addition of a second ferry to today’s schedule to help transport fans of the Who Dat Nation to the NFL Kickoff festivities and game.

The Motor Vessel Thomas Jefferson will operate starting at 1 p.m. and is scheduled to run until 9 p.m., or until traffic conditions subside. As previously released, the Algiers Ferry is running its regular schedule, 6 a.m. until 12:15 a.m., but will close to vehicular traffic, from Algiers, at 1:00 p.m., with limited access to the ferry landing until 5:30 p.m. The Gretna Ferry is operating on an extended schedule and will make its last trip at 9 p.m., from Canal Street.

The Chalmette Ferry is running its regular schedule, 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., with no changes. The ferries will return to regular operating hours on Friday, September 10.
