BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will hold a public meeting on the La. 16 widening project on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Faith Family Church at 34401 La. 16 in Denham Springs.

Representatives from DOTD and Barriere Construction will be in attendance to provide information about the project and answer any questions.

“We know that road construction can sometimes be an inconvenience,” said DOTD Customer Service Manager Peggy Bueche. “But the DOTD Customer Service Center is here to answer any of your questions and keep you informed throughout the life of the project – we want to hear from you.”

The 2-mile La. 16 project consists of the addition of two 12-foot travel lanes, a 10-foot outside shoulder, a 6-foot inside shoulder, and a raised median from just north of La. 1025 to just south of La. 1019. Work on the project will begin on Nov. 12 and last until December 2008.

For questions or to sign up for periodic e-mail updates about the project, contact DOTD’s Customer Service Center at 1-877-4LA-DOTD (1-877-452-3683) or by e-mail at customerservice@dotd.la.gov. The center is open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
