Friday, February 19, 2021 at 4:00:13 PM
The I-10 westbound exit ramp at Exit 103B (I-49 NB - Opelousas) will be closed on Sunday, February 21 at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, February 22 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
This closure is necessary to allow crews to remove temporary barrier rails.
The detour for traffic is I-10 Westbound to Exit 103A (US 167 South exit ramp), I-10 Eastbound via Exit 1A and I-10 eastbound to 103B (I-49 NB - Opelousas).
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in May 2021.
