UPDATE: REOPENED - I-49 North segment (northbound & southbound) in Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the I-49 North segment between the I-220 interchange in Shreveport and Mira Myrtis Road in north Caddo Parish has been REOPENED effective immediately.

This affects both directions of travel (northbound and southbound lanes).

DOTD’s emergency personnel will continue to monitor upcoming weather situations and will scout the area for safety on the roadways. Crews will be mobilized as needed in the event an area is threatened by severe weather conditions.

Motorists are reminded to beware of black ice - a thin, transparent layer of ice accumulation that can be visually hard to detect on bridges, overpasses, off-ramps and in shady spots.

Safety Reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through areas that may be affected by accumulations of ice on the roadways, especially on elevated surfaces. Please be on the lookout for crews and their equipment.
