BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $17 million at its April 25 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $2,914,049.90, Soil Stabilizers Inc., Ruston, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in East Carroll Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 581 from La. 143 to La. 881.

Assumption – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on La. 1016-1 from La. 70 to approximately two miles east of La. 70, F.G. Sullivan Jr. Contractor LLC, Baton Rouge, $1,923,869.11.

East Baton Rouge – Pavement striping, raised pavement markers and related work on I-12 from I-10 to the Livingston Parish line, Pavement Marking Division of Gulf Industries Inc., Mandeville, $547,757.50.

East Feliciana – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 955 from La. 957 to La. 19, F.G.

Ouachita – Sealing asphalt pavement and pavement striping on the I-20 service road from Camp Road to the Delta Ouachita Vocational School, P.R. Parker Co. Inc., Shreveport, $178,771.02.

St. Charles – Installing drainage pipe on U.S. 61 at Clayton Pond, Tri-State Road Boring Inc., Baton Rouge, $244,844.

St. Helena – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 38 from La. 10 to La. 43, Diamond B Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $1,228,894.63.

St. Helena, Tangipahoa – Sealing asphalt pavement on La. 440 from La. 10 to the Tangipahoa Parish line, W.R. Core LLC, Folsom, $517,213.30.

Terrebonne – Bride deck and wire rope replacement on La. 24 on the Presque Isle Bridge, Coastal Bridge Co. LLC, Baton Rouge, $198,000.

Vernon – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work on the U.S. 171 bridge near Leesville, RCS Contractors Inc., Port Allen, $334,014.
